Christmas is Coming!

Hey guys, hope your all okay!
Just thought I'd give you a quick update on the snow, the past couple of days have been amazing and I've done some of my first powder skiing of the season and hopefully there will be many more days like that to come! the snow is getting soooo much better and were due more over this week, so its looking good for everyone that is here for Christmas!

This is the Chalet that I work in, It's called the Amalien Haus and its in a brilliant location right in the centre of town.

Just some cheeky table dancing in the KK!

A Nice merry walk down from the KK...

Just thought I'd post you a few cheeky photos from some recent adventures! Looks like I've been well and truly Jagered on some of them, theirs loads more to come but I'm having difficulties with my camera at the moment, but I'll upload them as soon as I've sorted it out.

Rendl opens!

Hey guys, just thought I'd update you all on the snow etc, unfortunately we're in need of some snow desperately and everyone out here has there fingers crossed for some in the next couple of days.

But on a more exciting note, Rendl opened yesterday and as usual the sun was shining over there. The snow was good but by the time we'd got there all the powder had been eaten up but all in all it was a good afternoon, followed by a late one in the krazy kanguruh!

I had the guests from my chalet dancing on the tables in their ski boots and of course doing some cheeky jagerbombs before dinner. For those of you that dont know the Krazy Kanguruh or the KK as we call it, it's quite a famous apres ski bar in st.anton which is situated on one of the last runs down back into resort. And last night there was some very amusing skiing back to the chalet after the afternoon of beer and jager!
Yesterday we also put up our xmas tree and spent the morning decorating it, so now the whole chalet is feeling very festive and getting a little bit excited about xmas. Frankie(another chalet host from our chalet) and myself are also geting excited as our families are coming out for christmas tomorrow and were looking forward to a couple of all expenses paid days on the mountain!
Heard down the grapevine that England has quite a bit of snow, probably looking better than here at the moment, enjoy sledging! Ciao!

Peaking and Troughing

Hi guys I’m Hannah and this season i am a JW Seasonnaire in St. Anton. I’ve been been here for 2 weeks now and I’m having an amazing time.
The first few weeks have been full of highs and lows, hence the title peaking and troughing, also another phrase for epic hangovers. I’ve been introduced to jager milks which are the most foal shot I have ever had, but have also fallen in love with what is so far the drink of the season vodka, lime and sodas! Jager flows like water out here and is even on tap in most places. Are current locals are Bar Cuba and Scotty’s as we literally roll out of our accommodation into those bars, although for some insane après ski we turn to the KK and the newly refurbished Taps and not to forget the Mooserwirt!
On one of the first few days of the season my friends and I went to this famous procession known as Krampus in St. Anton where we had plenty of Mulled Wine and watched these insanely scary ‘creatures’ i.e locals dressed up as monsters walk down the street. As they walked down the street they attempted to whip everyone to rid them of any evil for the start of the season although I don’t think a lot of people will be saints this season. I cannot begin to explain how much the wiping hurts but in hindsight it was a lot of fun although slightly weird!

As its the start of the season we’ve been hitting the après and bar scene pretty hard with all the openings we’ve been invited to, one of our favourites was Bar Cuba’s Black and Bright themed Seasonnaire’s party, it was an amazing night with a variety of costumes and one that we have to mention was our friend’s bright pink morph suit, he was fully dedicated to the fancy dress vibe, whereas my costume consisted of a lot of glow paint and some good old fashioned retro headbands.
Currently the snow is okay we’re praying for more but it’s good for the moment, we’ve been pretty lucky and have been out on the hill most days getting to know the area. It’s getting insanely cold though we had minus 15 degrees the other day but we were packing plenty of layers! I’ll keep updating you on the snow as we go along, at the moment not all the lifts are open but it looks like by the end of the week they will be. Were all very excited about Rendl opening on Friday and can’t wait to check out the new Rendl bar!
Anyway guys I’ll keep you updated on what’s going on in resort and the snow until then ciao!
