Australia Day

What a day! Speaking as a true Home and Away fan, Australia day couldn’t have come sooner. We all turned from Brits into Ozzies after two or three Jagers.
The day consisted of a short visit to one of the few Ozzie owned bars in St Anton, Fang House and then we caught the last bubble up to Krazy Kanguruh. Immense dancing, too many VB’s and barbeques in the snow (i.e. men standing outside in the snow, wearing board shorts, wife beaters and flip-flops pretending to enjoy themselves while freezing their arses off!).

So the beer and the jager were flowing and the KK was rammed, lots of burgers, dancing on tables, shots, old school Australian tunes and tone deaf singing from any seasonnaire and holiday maker in the place.

Getting into the Australian spirt!

There was a fair few patriotic Australians around, one being my friend Craig who got the bus up to the Krazy kanguruh at 11:05, wearing his board shorts and wife beater and didn’t leave till 21:45. It was a hardcore effort by a true Australian.

Craig a true Australian!

The KK has a tradition. Any girl who shows off her boobs, gets a free bottle of Champers. And inevitably there were a few boobs on show. The new Bar girl got them out for the boys, although by mistake. Trust me, there were few happy men in that bar!
Slowly the KK came to a close and we had to ski home – eek! One guy decided to run home with poles and then did seven forward rolls to finish his dash but Chalet girl F found it a bit too challenging; skis, poles, glasses and hat were lost, but as she found herself 4 meters in front of a roaring piste basher...close to death...fear not, Ali came to the rescue. Chalet girl F was a bit shambolic and snow covered when she reached the bottom but after a pizza and reaching the arms of a hot man, she was OK – phew.

Chalet Girl F, feeling slightly worse for wear trying to eat her pizza!

Closing time at the KK...

The rest of the night was a bit of a blur, but who knew the Brits could celebrate an Ozzie day so well? That’s when good neighbours become good friends.

Flaming Sambucas anyone?

The past week has been absolutely mental in the chalet, we've had some wicked guests who were great fun! Dare I say the best guests yet...
So one night I was clearing up after dinner and 6 English guys were still sat at their table and asked if I could help them finish a bottle of Sambuca, obviously I could not decline their generous offer. But there was a slight catch, their drinking plans including flaming the sambuca into each others mouths. This was the out come;

Not quite sure if their is any skill to doing this but basically you hold the sambuca in your mouth, but your head back, light the sambuca and then add cinnamon which is what ignites the flame.
So after watching closely and a few glasses of wine, I finally decided that it was time I tried it out and thankfully it was a success!

Sophies turn...

Requirments of the FS Chalet girls, 1) first and most importantly be able to administer a shot of flaming sambuca.

John after a few attempts at the flaming Sambuca!

I Think this is without a doubt my new party trick! Ciao guys x

Day off and our trip to Lech!

Yesterday was our day off and so after a cheeky lie in, the Flexiski girls decided to venture over to Lech. The weather was absolutely perfect with bright blue skies, and so we decided to do half of the 'white ring', a three-hour loop that swings around Lech, Zug, Oberlech and Zürs in one big circuit. The previous day it had snowed quite heavily, so the snow was really great. The best thing about the White Ring is that people of all abilities can enjoy it - advanced skiers can drop off the side of the piste cutting corners and hit some sneaky bits of powder, or you can follow the pistes and meet up at the bottom. All in all, it was an amazing chilled day shooting round the Arlberg.

Sam half way through 'White Ring'...very happy as it was a perfect day with blues all round :)

If you look on the far left of the picture you can see one skier on the start of the ring.

Frankie and myself at the top of the world being tourists!!

Me and Sam

Back in Taps, enjoying a beer with some of the crystal staff.

Sam being a little bit special playing in the snow...bless her!

After a fantastic days skiing (and a good apres session!) we decided to go to "Underground on the Piste" for dinner. The restaurant serves all your favourites with some great live music involving a bannana and a lot of action... I'll let you imagine the rest! We had a really good time with plenty of red wine flowing round the table and some food that (thank god) wasn't chalet food! After being a little bit merry we ventured down to Scotty's and got dragged into to playing Jengameister!...
Basically its just an ordinary game of Jenga but if you knock it over on your turn you have to buy a round of Jager for everyone that is playing, hence the intense faces on the photos!

Getting a tiny bit worried but thankfully I didn't lose once! Although that poor guy in the corner knows he is going to have to buy the next round, poor guy!

Brilliant day off and counting down the days till my next one! Ciao x

Krazy Kanguruh

Yesterday we had a manic change over in the chalet and didn't finish till around 4o'clock so after we decided to go for a few drinks at the Krazy Kanguruh but because we finished so late we had to get the bus up there. We then thought it would be a clever idea to bin bag it back down the slope after, so after quite a few cheeky beers and dancing on tables we decided to head back down to dinner. This is what happened...

What you can’t see near the end of the video is that Ali being really clever crashed into me losing both his skis and my bin bag which resulted in getting absolutely soaked and a ski piggy back down the rest of the slope to the bottom. I think it's safe to say I'm going to be sticking to skiing down from now on!

Lambert the token welsh friend, throwing his most aggressive dance moves around in the KK after being stranded in Stuben as he missed the last lift! which then cost him a nice 45euro taxi ride back to St.Anton.

Just getting ready to head down, I can tell you I definitely wasn't smiling half way down when my jeans were soaked my goggles were no where to be seen and my hands were like ice blocks. In hindsight it was very amusing for everyone else but I think I've learnt my lesson...your supposed to actually ski to apres ski bars!

Pre-disaster, all smiles!

All in all it was a very amusing evening off! Day off tomorrow and think a few of us are skiing over to Lech which should be good as the snow isn't too great here in St.Anton. Ciao x

Hangover day....

The past couple of weeks have been manic here in St.Anton so when flexiski were given there day off on Monday it turned into an epic PJ day/recovery from the night before. Most of our friends were at Kandahar until the wee hours of the morning on Sunday night as it was a seasonnaire's night, 20euros in and free drinks all night it got very very messy.
So as you can imagine everyone was feeling very worse for wear, so to recover everyone came round to our flat and piled into the bunkbeds to watch TOPGUN.

The flexiski staff now have a new found appreciation for Tom Crusie and the theme tune! I believe this is film is definitely one of the greatest films ever!
Here is a cheeky link so you can appreciate Topgun for a couple of minutes:

But after our day of sleeping and eating we did make it out on to the hill the next day and spent the day in Rendl enjoying the sunshine and doing a cheeky bit of sunbathing with our packed lunches up on Rendl Beach...

Anyway hope you all enjoying the snow in England, by the sounds of it you've got more than us right now! Ciao x

New Year!

Happy New year everyone, hope you all had an amazing New Year and kicked off the year with a bang. St.Anton was mad it was basically one huge party in the street with fire works going off literally next to you, followed by a heavy one in Bar Cuba and an awful breakfast service the next day. I got in to work in the morning at around 8 and stumbled up to the kitchen to find the chef asleep on the counter and one of the other chalet girls virtually passed out against the dishwasher! Its safe to say that everyone felt very rough indeed, so we all ended up sleeping the rest of the day away and watching Dirty Dancing before starting work again in the evening.

There was some cheeky fancy dress going on the theme was supposed to be 80's but all I could rustle together was something that looked slightly nautical, all in all it was an amazing night! one of the best new years I've ever had!

Enjoying a little bit too much champagne! About 5 seconds later it was all over my hair :(

Caitlin at approximatley 12:30, absolutely hammered and ready for bed!
Trying to sort Caitlin out...
Little bit worried that she wasn't going to carry on!

Very merry in Cuba!

The New Year has brought many hangovers to St.Anton but its also brought SNOW! which is great news, hopefully it'll snow for the rest of the week so we can start the year with some powder skiing. Ciao for now guys! x
